INSPIRAL Passes May Hill Test with Flying Colours

Posted on

INSPIRAL (Frankel) stretched her unbeaten record to three with a dominant success in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster for John & Thady Gosden. She hit the front inside the final two furlongs and extended away to win by almost four lengths in the hands of Frankie Dettori. This was the sixth win in this contest for her jockey and also for her joint-trainer John Gosden.

Having won the Listed Star Stakes over 7f at Sandown last time out, INSPIRAL appeared to relish the extra furlong on Town Moor and could now head on to the Gr. 1 bet365 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on 8 October.

Inspiral is a fourth generation homebred being out of the Selkirk mare STARSCOPE, who finished runner-up in the Gr. 1 1000 Guineas and Gr. 1 Coronation Stakes for John Gosden. Starscope has a Siyouni colt foal at foot and has been scanned in foal to Ulysses.
