Yesterday’s inaugural Tattersalls Somerville Sale at Park Paddocks was topped by a superb colt by Twilight Son, who was secured by Adam Driver of Global Equine for 120,000gns. Consigned by Petches Farm, he is a Baileys’ homebred out of their Stakes winner Baileys Jubilee (Bahamian Bounty). He was the leading light of a strong sale, which saw six yearlings by Twilight Son sell for an average of more than £45,000. This continues an excellent run at the sales for progeny of Twilight Son, who also supplied the joint top lot at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale. That colt, now named Twilight Jet, was purchased for £210,000 and recently finished third in the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes for Michael O’Callaghan.
