Sunny Spell for Twilight Juveniles

Posted on

TWILIGHT SON was responsible for one of Italy’s leading 2yo fillies of last term in ARIA IMPORTANTE, who won the Group 3 Premio Primi Passi and Listed Premio Eupili Stakes last term and has added another two Listed races and the Group 3 Premio Carlo Vittadini to her tally this season. It now seems that Twilight Son could have another leading light of that scene on his hands in the form of LITTLE O’KELLY, who broke her maiden stylishly in the Listed Premio Mantovani yesterday at San Siro.

Trained by Vincenzio Fazio, Little O’Kelly had previously been placed third in the Listed Premio Crespi over 1200m and progressed again for the step up to 1500m here. She was bred by Shark Bay Racing and purchased for 6,500gns by Marco Bozzi Bloodstock from The Castlebridge Consignment at Tattersalls Book 3.

Little O’Kelly’s victory continues a fine run for Twilight Son’s 2021 crop of 2yos. From only 15 individual runners, that crop also includes: dual winner and Group 3 runner-up BAGHED, eye-catching Group 2 Railway Stakes 5th TWILIGHT JET, classy Chantilly maiden winner TOIMY SON and KHUNAN, a novice winner who was beaten 1.25l in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes.
