The Listed Pipalong Stakes went the way of Cheveley Park Stud for the third consecutive year as LIGHTS ON added to the recent victories of Exhort (2019) and Romola (2020). Ryan Moore tracked across to the near side in the home straight, where he took up the running with Lights On two furlongs from home. From that point on, the 4yo filly extended her lead all the way to the line, coming home a brilliant ten length winner of the Pontefract feature. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Lights On has won three of her four starts this year and is clearly highly progressive. As well as being the third successive success in this race for Cheveley Park Stud, it is the fifth in total as Red Bloom (2005) and Chorist (2004) also feature on the roll of honour.
LIGHTS ON was purchased as a foal by Cheveley Park Stud for 250,000gns from West Blagdon Stud at the Tattersalls December Sale.
