Rohaan Pounces in Pavilion

Posted on

ROHAAN (Mayson) weaved through rivals under Ryan Moore and stayed on best to win the Group 3 Pavilion Stakes (Commonwealth Cup Trial) at Ascot. This was a career-best effort from David Evans’ progressive sprinter, who has now won five times since being purchased last October for only 20,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale. However, there was no fluke about this victory as Rohaan found generously for pressure and only had to be pushed out by Moore to become Mayson’s 19th Stakes winner.

Mayson enjoyed a breakthrough 2020 with OXTED becoming his first Group 1 winner, whilst LAUGH A MINUTE got this season off to a flyer for his sire with a Listed success at Cork. ROHAAN has now burst onto the scene as an improving talent and could well have some exciting targets ahead following this Group 3 victory.

Rohaan was bred by Liam Phelan and purchased by Oliver St Lawrence for £36,000 from Midlands Farm at Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.
