Cheveley Park Stud are tremendously excited for the coming season as the first runners sired by Ulysses prepare to grace a racecourse. With his yearlings fetching up to 320,000gns and going into training with the likes of Andrew Balding, Karl Burke, Clive Cox, John Gosden, Sir Michael Stoute and Roger Varian, the early signs are very encouraging indeed. As with his first three books of mares, Ulysses will once again receive strong support from the Cheveley Park Stud broodmare band. Amongst the mares he will be welcoming are the Gr.1 winners Echelon, already the dam of dual Gr.1 winner Integral, and Champion 2YO Hooray. Dual Gr. 1 runners-up Heaven Sent and Starscope are also booked in to visit the son of Galileo and 2007 Oaks heroine Light Shift. Other mares set for a  date with Ulysses include the Gr.3 winner Regal Realm, who has made an exciting start as a broodmare with the top class performer Regal Reality, and Exhort, a Listed winning half-sister to Golden Horde.

Twilight Son was a leading first-season sire in 2020 with 22 individual winners headed by the Gr.3 scorer Aria Importante. Twilight Son improved to the tune of  34lb as a 3YO and there is every reason to believe he can build upon the promising start he has made as a sire. As such, Cheveley Park Stud are continuing to support him with a number of choice mares including the Stakes winners Dance Diva, Red Box (also a daughter of Gr.1 Prix de Diane heroine Confidential Lady), Tigrilla and Zuhoor Baynoona (a half-sister to Hello Youmzain).

Last season’s Gr.1 Falmouth Stakes winner Veracious is the most high profile new member of the Cheveley Park Stud broodmare band and she will visit Dubawi in her first season. Dalham Hall’s flagship stallion will also be receiving the Gr.1 QEII Stakes winner Persuasive and Provenance, a Stakes placed daughter of Galileo whose Dubawi yearling colt sold to Godolphin for 800,000gns at Book 1 last year. Queen’s Trust, who provided a memorable homebred triumph in the 2016 renewal of the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, is in foal to Kingman and heads for a return tryst with the son of Invincible Spirit this coming season. Sacre Caroline, a half-sister to US Champion Lady Eli and the dam of the high class juvenile Sacred, is also heading to Banstead Manor and will visit Frankel. Multiple Gr.1 winner Advertise was bred by Cheveley Park Stud and his dam, the Pivotal mare Furbelow, will be bred along similar lines as she is set for a date with Shadwell’s exciting new recruit Mohaather.

Mastercraftsman’s dance card will include the Gr.2 Lillie Langtry Stakes winner Pilaster and Gr.1 Prix Royal-Oak winner Allegretto, who produced Roger Varian’s Listed winner Cabaletta from their 2016 mating. No Nay Never will receive Mesa Fresca, dam of Gr. 1 Del Mar Oaks winner Harmonize, and Fools In Love, dam of Gr.2 winner Seahenge and the dual Gr.1 placed Max Player. Another mare set to be courted at Coolmore is the Pivotal mare Safina, who will visit Wootton Bassett. A daughter of the great Russian Rhythm, she is the dam of six winners from six runners including the exciting Classic prospect Potapova.

The dual Gr. 1 winning Dalakhani mare Integral, whose first two dams are also top flight winners, ventures over the Irish Sea for a date with fellow Royal Ascot winner Blue Point. Intimation, a Gr.3 winning Dubawi half-sister to Veracious, and Troarn, a Listed placed full-sister to Almanzor, will both visit Sea The Stars. Tally Ho’s first-season sire sensation Mehmas has been booked for the Gr.3 winner Spangled and Listed winner Ladyship, a daughter of Gr.1 winner Peeress. Whilst Ladyship’s Gr. 3 winning daughter Dark Lady heads to Night of Thunder for her maiden cover. Finally, Dark Angel has been a lucky sire in recent years for Cheveley Park Stud and Yeomanstown Stud’s star is set to receive Romola, a Listed winning Pivotal granddaughter of dual Gr.1 winner Nannina.
