UNFORTUNATELY was represented by his first Stakes winner when the George Boughey-trained PERDIKA battled bravely to land the Listed Prix Ronde de Nuit at Chantilly. This was the fifth career victory for the three-year-old filly, who had acquitted herself well racing over longer trips in Meydan through January and February. The speed and tenacity she showed to score in Chantilly echoed the success her sire enjoyed in France when landing the Gr.1 Prix Morny and Gr.2 Prix Robert Papin. Perdika is owned by Mrs S Nicholls, who bred the filly in partnership with Bumble Bloodstock.
