ENVOI ALLEN extended his impeccable record at Down Royal to four wins from four appearances when landing the course’s feature Gr.1 Ladbrokes Champion Chase for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. Having not raced over a staying trip since pulling up at the Punchestown Festival in 2021, Envoi Allen cast aside any stamina doubts by running on strongly to deny Kemboy on the climb to the line, the pair pulling clear of two Grade 1 winning staying chasers from last season.
This victory took Envoi Allen’s tally to 14 wins from 19 starts under rules, including seven Grade 1 triumphs. Still only eight-years-old, he is now likely to be targeted at the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.
