Clive Cox has a new star sprinter on his hands in the form of GOLDEN HORDE (Lethal Force), who turned in a dominating display to capture the Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) at Royal Ascot. Golden Horde became the second consecutive Commonwealth Cup winner out of a PIVOTAL mare, following in the footsteps of ADVERTISE (Showcasing), who triumphed in 2019. Both winners are out of mares bred by Cheveley Park Stud.
Golden Horde is Pivotal’s 23rd individual top-level scorer and 63rd Group winner worldwide. Golden Horde’s dam ENTREAT was sold at the Tattersalls July Sale by Cheveley Park Stud carrying Golden Horde in-utero. Entreat is also the dam of EXHORT (Dutch Art), who defeated Billesdon Brook in the Pipalong Stakes (Listed) at Pontefract. Exhort is in-foal to ULYSSES.
