My Hope and her Ulysses filly

What is believed to be one of the first foals by ULYSSES arrived at Cheveley Park Stud on Tuesday, 22nd January. The bay filly is out of My Hope (Afleet Alex), who is a half-sister to three Stakes winners, and hails from the same family as Blame and Archipenko. She was purchased by Cheveley Park Stud at the 2017 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale for $525,000.

Bloodstock Manager, Matthew Sigsworth, said of the foal ‘She is an attractive and well balanced filly, with good bone and quality. We are delighted to see that Ulysses appears to be stamping his stock at this early stage, and are particularly encouraged by this new arrival.’

ULYSSES, was a dual Group 1 winner and finished his racing career with a Timeform rating of 130, having won the Coral Eclipse Stakes and Juddmonte International Stakes, when easily beating Churchill and Decorated Knight. He also boasts an impeccable pedigree being by the great sire, Galileo, out of the Epsom Oaks winner Light Shift (Kingmambo), and is from the immediate family of Group/Grade 1 winners Shiva and Main Sequence.

ULYSSES was extremely well supported in his first year at stud covering a book of 115 mares, including 8 Group 1 winners, dams of 6 Group 1 winners and 18 sisters or half-sisters of Group 1 winners.

ULYSSES’s fee for 2019 is £17,500 (1st October, Special Live Foal Terms), with nominations still available.
