ULYSSES, dual Group 1 winner and leading European older horse of 2017, has taken to stallion duties extremely well and has had his first two mares covered scanned in foal. The first being the Cheveley Park Stud owned mare Executrix, a half sister to the Group 1 Matron Stakes winner Echelon, herself dam of dual Group 1 winner Integral. The second mare scanned in foal was the Niarchos Family owned Dawning, a winning half sister to the Breeders’ Cup Mile and French 2000 Guineas winner, Karakontie.
As part of Cheveley Park Stud’s and the Niarchos Family policies of supporting their own stallions, ULYSSES has been patronised by a selection of mares from their high quality broodmare bands, as well as by many other leading European breeders.
Cheveley Park Stud Managing Director, Chris Richardson said; ‘Mr and Mrs Thompson and Mrs Maria Niarchos-Gouaze and her family, are delighted that Ulysses has had his first mares scanned in foal. Ulysses has a very exciting book of mares and in association with the Niarchos family, we all very much look forward to the future. One should remember that in the myth, Ulysses was a hero, who won through in the end’.
Mares visiting ULYSSES in 2018 include the Group winners and Group producers Banks Hill, Moonlight’s Box, Posteritas, Infallible, Gilt Edged Girl, Echelon, Fools In Love, Tatora, Mesa Fresca and Integral to name but a few.
ULYSSES’ fee for 2018 is £30,000 (1st October, Special Live Foal Terms).
