Richard Hannon’s excellent season with juveniles continued apace at Salisbury with the success of DARK LADY (Dark Angel) in the Gr. 3 Shadwell Dick Poole Stakes. Making her sixth start of the term, she cruised to the front under Pat Dobbs then knuckled down gamely to see off the resolute effort of Millisle (Starspangledbanner).
Following two placed efforts in Gr. 3 contests over 7f, Dark Lady relished the step back in trip and will now head to the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.
Dark Lady hails from a family that has been nurtured at Cheveley Park Stud for six generations. Her dam is the Listed winner LADYSHIP (Oasis Dream) and her granddam is Gr. 1 Sun Chariot and Gr. 1 Lockinge Stakes heroine, PEERESS (Pivotal). Ladyship has an IFFRAAJ colt foal and is in foal to ULYSSES.
